This is one of the bases for my work in mental health. Feelings are often ignored and discarded yet they guide our growth. Emotions not well regulated pose a stumbling block for healthy growth. Allow me to come alongside you as we unravel/untangle the knots of emotions accumulated through life’s experiences.
Theodora is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, majoring in psychology with a minor in speech and communications. She further obtained her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University with focus on child and adolescent and addiction studies. Theodora comes with vast experience working in community mental health, Charter schools, Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP). She believes in partnering with parents and views the family unit as the core of the individuals she provides services for. She also has experience facilitating substance abuse groups for both adults and adolescents.
Theodora works with children, adolescents, teens, young adults, and their families dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, borderline disorder, self-harm, suicidal ideations, conduct disorder, ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder. She also focuses on inclusivity and diversity of her clients and reaching the marginalized in society.
Theodora draws inspiration from utilizing evidence based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Client Centered Therapy, Motivational Interview, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and parent coaching.
