Stephanie Ricedorf

Hi, my name is Stephanie Ricedorf. I am a Licensed Social Worker, with a Masters degree from Aurora University. I believe that some of the most difficult parts of life can be “the best thing you never knew you needed” to be able to grow into the person you would like to be. My therapeutic approach focuses on the individual and the skills to find them to achieve their well-being. Through empathetic listening and focusing on building on the strengths of the individual, I am able to develop respectful therapeutic relationships.

Through my experience in hospital inpatient and partial hospitalization programs, I have worked with adults, adolescents, and substance abuse clients. My journey started as a Behavioral Health Associate at Linden Oaks Hospital in Naperville, where I was provided the opportunity to provide individual, group, and family support sessions for clients with acute mental illnesses and substance dependence.

I am comfortable and experienced in treating a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, managing narcissistic relationships, chronic stress, and life transitions. Through using a combination of multiple treatment modalities, I develop compassionate and empowering treatment plans for my client’s individual needs. My treatment approach utilizes evidence-based therapeutic orientations, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Person-Centered approaches.

I am particularly passionate about empowering clients to improve their relationships with themselves, fostering growth, self-compassion, and understanding. I also advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for all individuals.
