Laura Estrada

Have you ever found yourself wondering why you respond to life in the way you do? If this question resonates with you, you're certainly not alone. Our behaviors and emotional reactions often stem from deep-rooted experiences, many of which trace back to our childhood or significant life events. These influences may remain hidden within us, shaping our responses and interactions in ways that can feel confusing or overwhelming. I’m here to help you explore and understand the underlying factors that contribute to your current behavior.

You may find yourself questioning why certain patterns keep repeating in your life. Unresolved past traumas or emotional wounds could be contributing to your distress, affecting your relationships and overall well-being. You can transform your life if you're ready to explore these deep-seated issues and are motivated to make positive changes. By uncovering and understanding the roots of your behavior, you can take meaningful steps toward building healthier relationships, enhancing your emotional well-being, and finding clarity and confidence in your path forward. My psychodynamic approach is grounded in the belief that you can develop greater self-awareness and emotional resilience by addressing these hidden influences. I’m here to guide you through this process of self-discovery and growth, helping you create a more balanced and fulfilling life.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring a strong foundation to our work together. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. As the wife of an Army veteran and a family member of military service members and veterans, I deeply understand the unique challenges faced by those who serve our country. I have a special appreciation for working with service members and veterans from all branches of the military.

I am committed to fostering a genuine connection with my clients, offering empathy, integrity, and a supportive environment to explore thoughts and feelings. My work focuses on trauma, childhood disturbances, anxiety, grief, relational challenges, adjustment difficulties, and both individual and couples counseling. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), to help clients overcome challenges and build resilience.
