Kyshema Jefferson

Dr. Jefferson obtained her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Benedictine University in 2017, Masters in Counseling specialization Clinical Mental Health from Adler University in 2021, and PhD in Community Psychology from National Lewis University in 2024. Since 2017 she has provided professional services in the mental/behavior health field. Her clinical expertise expand as a adolescent substance abuse counselor at a rehabilitation facility, intervention behavioral specialist at an alternative high school, clinical mental health therapist in multiple private practices, and staff therapist at a nonprofit agency. She is member of American Psychological Association (APA), American Counseling Association (ACA), and Association of Black Psychologist (ABPsi).

Dr. Jefferson specializes in anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, mood disorders, crisis intervention, adolescence, parenting, life transition issues, LGBTQ, marriage and family struggles. She is consistently interacting with multicultural clients and developed a passion for helping people in the community with therapeutic services. She uses theoretical orientations that are evidence-based treatment including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT/Trauma-Focused CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Meditation, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Reality Therapy to assist her clients in achieving a overall positive wellbeing.
