Kristen Duerdoth
Kristen is a licensed Social Worker in the state of IL. She received her masters degree in Social Work from Aurora University. Kristen has 5 years of experience working with adolescents and young adults in both outpatient and residential programs as well as experience working in a therapeutic day school setting with children as young as 7 years old. Kristen is trained in and has experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition, as a registered yoga teacher(RYT-200hr) she has experience with mindfulness based breathing and movement practices. Kristen has a passion to partner up with individuals and empower them to identify their values and use those values as well as committed actions to move towards a fulfilling life.
Kristen specializes in working with adolescents and young adults who struggle with generalized anxiety, school avoidance/refusal, social anxiety, OCD, self-esteem issues, self-harm, and emetophobia. She works alongside individuals to help them build a skill set to better regulate and tolerate difficult emotions. Kristen is committed to creating an alliance with each individual to effectively move through life’s peaks and valleys.
Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time outside, gardening, hiking, or practicing yoga.
