Fio is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois.  She obtained her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Fio has experience working with people of diverse backgrounds. She is also bilingual and conducts therapy in English and Spanish.

Fio’s practice includes working with individuals struggling with anxiety, attachment issues, depression, domestic abuse, grief and loss, life transitions, LGBTQ issues, anger, trauma, codependency, and self-esteem issues. Although strengths-based, cultural responsiveness, and search for meaning are the foundation of her therapeutic approach, Fio also uses mindfulness, psychodynamic approaches, person-centered, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) interventions. It is paramount to Fio to provide a safe and non-judgmental space, to establish trust, and to instill hope so that her clients can share their stories and move towards personal growth.

Her goal is to help her clients discover their inner strength and learn how to use it to overcome difficulties and deal with what holds them back. Fio sees individual clients aged 16 and up, couples, and families.
