Dr. Mary Ihnenfeld, DSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost 30 years of experience working in the mental health field. Mary graduated from Aurora University with her doctorate in social work in 2023 from Aurora University along and her master’s degree in social work from Aurora University in 1996. Mary is a DBT- Linehan Board Certified Therapist. DBT is an evidence-based treatment approach being used to treat many historically difficult to treat populations and behaviors, including chronic suicidal ideations, self-injury, Mary has been an adjunct faculty member at Aurora University since 2010 teaching a variety of courses to both undergraduate and graduate students. Her area of specialty is working with men and women who suffer from depression and have a history of self-mutilation, destructive and/or addictive behaviors. Mary believes in the power of the therapeutic and collaborative relationship. “It truly is a privilege and an honor to be someone’s therapist”.
