She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at DePaul University.

Jen has worked in diverse settings, including partial/intensive hospitalization programs, community mental health centers, and private practice. In her clinical work, Jen assists individuals across their lifespan, specializing in ADHD, anxiety disorders, Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRB), depression, OCD, school issues, self injury, specific phobias, and trauma. Additionally, Jen offers parent coaching, believing it can complement their child’s treatment. Such sessions encompass psycho-education, strategies to alleviate a child’s anxiety or behavioral challenges, reducing accommodations, and providing support.

Jen skillfully utilizes a patient-specific combination of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) including mindfulness and exposure based interventions to help her clients overcome the fears and anxieties that have held them back from living their fullest life. Throughout treatment, she will assist her patients in gaining knowledge of their own anxiety triggers and symptoms by teaching them skills that they can use to increase their ability to tolerate distress and regulate emotions. She believes an essential part of this process is developing a therapeutic relationship that establishes a safe space with trust and collaboration with the patients’ support system including family, friends, school, and other treatment providers in order to help them reach their goals.
